Tonight’s Winners, Called by The Anna Progress
City Council Place 2: Runoff
This race will be going to a runoff between former councilman Nathan Bryan and local business owner Allison Inesta as the threshold of 50%+1 has not been reached by any candidate therefore the top two vote getters will be going to a runoff in 30 days.
City Council Place 4: Kelly Herndon (+48)
Councilwoman Kelly Herndon secures reelection in a blowout. Winning by 48 percentage points and garnering over 70% of the vote. The sixth city councilwoman ever, and the first to run for reelection since Lauren Lovato (2016) but the first in recent memory to secure reelection.
City Council Place 6: Manny Singh (+48)
CDC/EDC Vice-President Manny Singh beats last year’s mayoral candidate by the same margin as Place 4. This marks a major change for the City of Anna, as for the first time since 2016 Place 6 will not be represented by Lee Miller.
School Board Place 2: Tiffany Terry (Unopposed)
School Board Place 3: Jose Vargas (Unopposed)
School Board Place 4: Cody Bridwell
Cody Bridwell wins a packed race due to the rules for school board being different. Though he may not have reached a 50%+ threshold of the vote, he still received a majority of the vote so therefore it is clear that he will be the next school board member for place 4.
