The Anna Progress will be conducting a 2025 Teacher Spotlight program for the community. While we acknowledge that the school district recognizes a Teacher of the Year, we do not intend to duplicate this initiative. Our purpose with the Teacher Spotlight is to highlight the exceptional contributions of our valued educators, who may not be recognized by the district as the top performer, but whose impact is undeniable. Considering this is a community news source, we feel community feedback is necessary so if you have any suggestions for a teacher to spotlight feel free to reach out. The teachers we spotlight will be given a plaque, an interview, an article, and their commitment to the community will be forever internalized by The Anna Progress.
The first round of Teacher Spotlight awards will be handed out on Thursday, May 8th, during school hours by The Anna Progress. Beginning Saturday, May 10th, we will publish our first featured articles, celebrating the unique stories and lasting influence of our dedicated teachers. Each week following, readers can look forward to new spotlights as we continue to honor the teachers who help shape our children and strengthen the heart of our community. We hope much like the Anna-Melissa Tribune this idea will expand to include athletes and other community members, not just teachers.
