Anna, TX — The drive-thru salad chain Salad and Go has closed its Anna store at 1460 S. Ferguson Parkway, one of 41 locations shuttered across the U.S. as the Coppell-based company restructures its footprint.
WFAA reports the chain reduced operations in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, along with “a few in the Dallas Metro and Oklahoma,” CEO Mike Tattersfield said in a statement.
“This is a very difficult decision because it impacts team members who have shown extraordinary passion and commitment in serving our guests,” Tattersfield said. “We are deeply grateful for their contributions and the connections they built in their communities.”
The Anna location’s closure is part of 18 North Texas stores that were shut down, including sites in Prosper, Princeton, Frisco, Lewisville, Rockwall, and Cross Roads.
Tattersfield emphasized that the company will remain strong in Dallas and Oklahoma while continuing to operate stores in Phoenix, Tucson, and Las Vegas.
“Concentrating our efforts will allow us to strengthen the brand and invest more in improving quality, driving innovation, and building community,” he added.

What’s Next for the Busy Corner?
The Anna site sits at one of the city’s busiest intersections — Ferguson Parkway and White Street — a high-traffic location that has long attracted food and retail chains. A Scooter’s Coffee already neighbors the property, limiting the likelihood of another coffee chain moving in.
Still, the compact drive-thru building is well-suited for other small-footprint businesses. Possible replacements could include:
• Smoothie or coffee chains such as Smoothie King and Dutch Bros.
• Frozen treat shops like Bahama Buck’s.
• Local quick-service operators who can adapt the space while capitalizing on the high-visibility corner.
Given Anna’s rapid population growth and the site’s prime location on a major thoroughfare, most local observers expect the building won’t sit empty for long.

A Growing Corridor
The closure marks the end of Salad and Go’s short run in Anna, but it underscores a larger trend: national chains testing the city’s booming market. As Anna continues to expand east and south, businesses large and small are eyeing intersections like Ferguson and White as key growth opportunities.
For now, residents will have to look to nearby cities like McKinney, Allen, and Plano to find their nearest Salad and Go — but eyes remain on what fills the vacancy in Anna next.
The Bigger Question
Is the Anna location’s closure just a standalone decision tied to Salad and Go’s broader downsizing — or is it the natural response in how the national food chain ecosystem is evolving? Only time, and the next tenant on Ferguson and White, will tell.
