Frisco, TX — Under the bright lights of The Star in Frisco, the Anna Coyotes left no doubt about who they are — a battle-tested team peaking at the perfect time. In their most complete performance of the season, Anna steamrolled Frisco Memorial 56–7 Thursday night, improving to 7–2 overall and 5–2 in district play while officially securing their postseason spot.
The victory marks the Coyotes’ second straight win, capping a powerful rebound from their heartbreaking losses to Prosper Walnut Grove and Melissa earlier this month.

Electric Start Under the Spotlight
Under the bright lights of The Star, Anna wasted no time making a statement. Late in the first quarter, quarterback Tristan Nylander opened the scoring with a 39-yard strike to Keshawn Myles, giving the Coyotes an early edge. Early in the second quarter, Jaden Parker added a 24-yard rushing touchdown to extend the lead.
From there, quarterback Ziondre Williams took over, hitting Brayden Spinks deep for a 37-yard touchdown and connecting with Carter Merritt on a 9-yard strike. Williams capped the first half with a 19-yard rushing score, giving Anna a commanding 35–0 advantage at halftime. Everything clicked — the timing, the tempo, the chemistry. The Coyotes blended explosive passing plays with a productive ground game, controlling the game from the opening whistle and setting the tone for the rest of the evening.

Coyotes Expand Their Offensive Arsenal
Building on their early momentum, Anna’s offense kept Frisco Memorial’s defense off balance by mixing sharp passing with punishing runs. Ziondre Williams continued to find receivers in key situations, including Ace Traylor and Brayden Spinks, while the ground attack kept rolling.
Jaden Parker, Ace Traylor, and Pharell Brown each powered into the end zone on the ground, showcasing the Coyotes’ ability to strike effectively both through the air and on the ground. Williams’ own rushing touchdown added another layer to the attack. By maintaining this balance throughout the second half, Anna demonstrated versatility and dominance, keeping the defense guessing and the game firmly under their control.

Defense Slams the Door
Anna’s defense, anchored by Dre Young, Jaden Parker, and Ryan Tsutsumi, smothered Frisco Memorial from the first snap. The Coyotes’ front seven consistently disrupted plays, racking up four key sacks — Young, Parker, C. Williams, and K. Banks each bringing down the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. Linebackers Traylor and Palmer made key stops, while the secondary, led by J. Smith and C. Warbington, broke up passes and limited opportunities in the passing game.
Frisco Memorial managed just a single score midway through the fourth quarter — a brief spark against an already dominant Coyotes squad. Jaden Parker’s interception in the third quarter set up Williams rushing touchdown, putting the game further out of reach. By the fourth, starters were resting, and the final 56–7 score reflected total defensive domination from start to finish.

Coyotes Locked In, Playoff Picture Set
With the win over Frisco Memorial, Anna has officially clinched the third seed in the district, securing a playoff berth and locking in a spot among the 5A Division II contenders. Undefeated Walnut Grove and Melissa remain at the top of the standings, with one of their two remaining games — their head-to-head matchup — likely deciding the district champion. For Anna, the focus now shifts entirely to refining their game, maintaining momentum, and finishing the season on a high note.
Meanwhile, the battle for the fourth and final playoff spot has come down to Denison and Lovejoy, each with two games remaining — including one against each other. Both teams defeated Emerson and fell to Anna earlier in the season, giving each team the corresponding tiebreaker advantage and disadvantage. Their head-to-head matchup is effectively winner-takes-all, with the victor advancing to the postseason and the loser seeing their season end.
Anna enters the playoffs not only with a secure seed but also with confidence and balance on both sides of the ball. Their final regular-season game against 1–8 Frisco Liberty offers a chance to fine-tune the offense and defense, set the tone for postseason play, and continue the statement run that has defined the Coyotes’ strong finish to the season.
