Anna, Texas — After sitting vacant for over a year, the former Salad and Go location at 1460 S. Ferguson Parkway has found a new future.
According to federal bankruptcy court filings, Dutch Bros Coffee has agreed to acquire the lease for the Anna property as part of a $105 million asset purchase involving 65 former Salad and Go locations and leases across Arizona, Nevada, Texas, and Oklahoma. The transaction is pending approval by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
The Anna location is one of 14 former Texas and Oklahoma leaseholds included in the agreement.
If approved, Dutch Bros plans to convert the existing drive-thru building into one of its coffee shops as part of the company’s continued national expansion.
A Year-Long Vacancy
The property has remained vacant since August 2025, when Salad and Go closed its Anna restaurant as part of a broader restructuring that shuttered 41 locations nationwide, including 18 across North Texas.
At the time, The Anna Progress reported on the closure and noted that the compact, drive-thru-only building made the site an attractive candidate for another quick-service concept. Dutch Bros was specifically identified as one of several businesses that could successfully reuse the building because of its nearly identical operating model.
One year later, that prediction appears to be coming true.
Why Dutch Bros?
Court filings show Salad and Go had limited options when searching for a buyer.
Unlike traditional restaurants, the buildings were designed almost exclusively around double-lane drive-thru service and contain relatively little kitchen infrastructure. That made coffee operators attractive buyers because they could occupy the buildings with minimal renovation.
Dutch Bros ultimately emerged as the successful bidder, agreeing to purchase the leases and assets for dozens of former Salad and Go locations.
The Oregon-founded coffee chain, now headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, operates more than 1,200 locations nationwide and has become one of the fastest-growing drive-thru coffee brands in the United States.
What Happens Next?
The asset purchase agreement was filed in bankruptcy court on August 4, with the transaction expected to close later in the third quarter of 2026 following court approval.
Because the Anna property already features the double-lane drive-thru layout Dutch Bros prefers, the company is expected to convert the existing building rather than construct an entirely new restaurant.
Dutch Bros has stated it intends to systematically convert the acquired properties as part of its long-term growth strategy. An official opening date for the Anna location has not yet been announced, and no local construction permits have been publicly issued as of publication.
A Busy Corner Gets a New Life
The property occupies one of Anna’s busiest commercial intersections at Ferguson Parkway and White Street, a corridor that has experienced significant commercial growth over the past several years.
For nearly twelve months, the vacant building stood as a reminder of Salad and Go’s rapid expansion—and equally rapid collapse.
Now, barring any changes during the bankruptcy process, the site appears poised to become Anna’s first Dutch Bros Coffee, bringing one of the nation’s fastest-growing coffee brands to one of the city’s most visible commercial corners.
